MUAY THAI
Muay Thai is a 2000 year old martial art whose origins are as mysterious as the history of Thailand itself. Modern martial artists refer to Muay Thai as the “Science of 8 Limbs” because of the parts of the body used for striking an opponent – hands, elbows, feet and knees. Modern Muay Thai has adapted some western boxing techniques.
We will teach you techniques such as Basic foot positioning, breathing and balance, jabs and crosses, leg blocks, angles, pivots and weight transfer, leg kicks, hip power and kicking with lead.
Hand strikes, jabs and uppercuts, range, power through hip rotation, elbow strikes, spinning elbow strikes, punch and elbow combinations, elbow strikes over the top, hooking
elbow, and strikes to Thai pads.
